Founded in 2019 under the leadership of our Founding President, Lisa Davis, we are proud to be one of more than 100 chapters of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA). Together, we strive to uphold NBNA’s mission: To serve as the voice for Black nurses and diverse populations by ensuring equitable access to professional development, promoting educational opportunities, and improving health outcomes for all.

The Midlands of South Carolina Black Nurses Association, Inc. is a one of 114 chapters of the National Black Nurses Association, and our membership is comprised of licensed nurses, and students attending an accredited School/College of Nursing. We also welcome other non-nursing professionals to join as affiliate members.
We became a Chartered Chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc., on July 24, 2019. Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at the University of South Carolina, College of Nursing. You do not need to be a student or faculty of UofSC to join! Videoconferencing is available for most meetings.
Our three strategic priorities are leadership, mentoring and advocacy. We hope to launch our mentoring program in the spring of 2021.
